December Highlights
December is always a busy month for most people, but in our family it also marks the start of birthday season. Beginning on December 24th, we celebrate eight birthdays in just two weeks! Back in the day, we rolled it all into one big celebration we fondly called “The Birthday Bash.”
We’re still adding a few finishing trim touches to the kitchen remodel, but my favorite thing in the whole space is already in place—the Tiffany-style pendant light over the kitchen sink. It might sound a little funny, but I absolutely love it, especially the cozy glow it casts at night. It makes even the simplest moments feel special.
This month I also stretched my drawing skills while designing a winter holiday collection and submitted it to a company for consideration. The artwork would be perfect for stationery, wrapping paper, or even an all-over fabric print. Creating it brought back so many childhood memories and celebrates timeless holiday traditions—baking cookies, savoring Grandpop’s candy canes, building snowmen, and decorating the season with poinsettias, snowflakes, and cozy quilt motifs. Vintage reds, greens, and pinks give the collection a warm, nostalgic glow.
As the year winds down, I’m looking ahead with excitement. I hope you’re looking forward to the new year, too. 💛
