Our Story

Welcome to SewCrazy Quilting, where handmade heirlooms are sewn with love. As a mom of seven and a proud grandmom to thirteen (and counting!), sewing runs deep in my veins. From my early days learning garment sewing at my mother's side to crafting beautiful quilts for my children and grandchildren, each stitch carries a piece of my heart.

At 21, I embarked on my first quilting journey, and since then, it's been a cherished tradition to gift each of our children a wedding quilt and each grandchild a baby quilt—complete with the family joke that the quilt predicts the baby's gender!

But these creations aren't just about tradition; they're a fusion of heritage and modernity. With state-of-the-art sewing, embroidery, and serger machines, we combine age-old techniques with contemporary design. We meticulously source the finest fabrics, trims, and accessories, ensuring every piece is crafted to withstand the test of time.

Our creative journey has blossomed into a passion for surface pattern design, where art, nature, and imagination come together. Over the years, I've developed my own distinctive artistic style, combining traditional art techniques with modern digital design to create unique patterns that tell a story.

Nature remains my greatest source of inspiration. From the delicate veins of a leaf and the graceful movement of flowering vines to the textures of tree bark and the whimsical personalities of birds and woodland creatures, I find endless beauty in the smallest details of God's creation. My work blends pen and ink, watercolor, pressed botanicals, and digital illustration, bringing together a variety of artistic techniques to create designs rich in color, texture, and personality.

Living in Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley provides a constantly changing canvas of inspiration. The soft pastels of spring blossoms, the vibrant colors of summer gardens, the glorious hues of autumn foliage, and the quiet beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains all find their way into my artwork. My color palettes often reflect these natural wonders, sometimes soft and romantic, other times bright, cheerful, and delightfully whimsical.

With a lifelong love of sewing and quilting, I approach surface pattern design with an appreciation for both artistry and functionality.
