Grace In Every Season

October in Virginia was nothing short of breathtaking. The trees in our front yard put on their finest show — a brilliant blaze of red and orange that made me stop and smile every time I stepped outside. Fall will forever be my favorite season — there’s just something about the crisp air, cozy sweaters, and colorful leaves that fills my heart with gratitude.

The new kitchen is finally taking shape! We’re down to the finishing touches — installing the dishwasher and cabinet trim — and I’m busy finding a home for all my kitchen paraphernalia again. It’s been quite the puzzle, but I’m loving how it’s coming together. With any luck, everything will be complete in time for our family Thanksgiving gathering. I can’t wait to fill the house with the smell of baking and put those new double ovens to good use. What a blessing!

On the design front, I created a custom stripe wallpaper for the mudroom bench area to complement the floral accent tile from the kitchen backsplash. I also finished my newest fabric collection, Piece-ful Postage — a cozy cottage-inspired design in two colorways. It was inspired by my grandma’s peaceful sewing space and her handwritten quilt journals. The collection blends hand-drawn florals and pressed blooms from her garden in a “postage stamp” style with stitched edges. It’s a heartfelt tribute to heirloom charm and family heritage — a collection meant to inspire peaceful, creative spaces for generations to come.

In other home projects, I gave an old dining room cabinet a complete refresh with a deep navy paint and lined the shelves with a pretty leaf motif peel-and-stick wallpaper. It’s amazing what a little color and pattern can do!

To top off the month, we made visits to Tennessee and the Carolinas to see our children and grandchildren — always the sweetest time. And as an added blessing, we had a wonderful visit from my niece and nephew and their family — I hadn’t seen them in almost 25 years! What a joy to reconnect and reminisce.

This month reminded me that, just like the changing seasons, God is always at work — renewing, reshaping, and blessing our lives in ways both big and small. Whether it’s the fiery beauty of fall leaves, the comfort of a new kitchen, or the joy of family gathered close, each moment is a gentle whisper of His grace and faithfulness. May we never grow tired of seeing His handiwork in the everyday.
