September Notes From the Homeplace

🍂 September Notes from the Homeplace

September has been a full month—between the kitchen remodel, family adventures, and time in the studio, the days have flown by!

The kitchen is really starting to come together. My husband crafted beautiful cherry window sills, and just yesterday our countertops were installed—gorgeous white quartz with soft streaks of gray and blue. We also picked out the flooring: a medium-dark, wide-plank vinyl that I can’t wait to see down. We even tucked lazy Susans into the upper corner cabinets to make them more useful. Still on the list—sink plumbing and hooking up the gas cooktop!

I always enjoy setting up at our local First Fridays Market. It’s a wonderful way to meet new people, support local farmers, and connect with our community. I usually join twice a year during the warmer months, and this time we had the perfect evening for it.

Family time has been sweet this month, too. We made a trip to our favorite Pennsylvania amusement park, Knoebels Amusement Resort. My parents took us there when I was young, and it’s become a tradition with our kids—and now the grandkids. Sharing rides, laughter, and memories together was such a gift. I also spent a week in Tennessee with my daughter’s family. The grandkids grow up so quickly, and every visit feels extra special when you don’t live close.

On the business side, I submitted a wallpaper collection to Little Cocalico for their Heirloom Cottage theme—fingers crossed they love it. I’m also developing some new tea towel prints and, on the handmade side, I’ve been stitching up soft teddy bears, tag toys, and cozy seasonal throws for Fall, Winter, and Patriotic themes.

As we step into the beauty of Autumn, I hope you’re finding moments of joy and inspiration, too.🍁
